In 2022, Florida agricultural and related products exports totaled $6,445,178,545, a 11.9% increase over 2021. The $6.4 billion in Florida exports:

              • Supported 79,920 jobs.
              • Produced $237.8 million in additional business tax revenue.
              • Generated $9.7 billion in total economic impact.

Florida exported agricultural products to 166 countries and territories in 2022, with 92 receiving more than $1 million in Florida agricultural exports.

The top 10 commodities accounted for 60.5% of all Florida agricultural and related products exports.

Fresh From Florida is a member of the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA), an organization helping small to medium companies in the southern United States promote their food and agricultural products in foreign markets. SUSTA is a nonprofit organization funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) Market Access Program. SUSTA works with representatives from Southern U.S. State Departments of Agriculture to educate companies and carry out their activities. The USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) partners with SUSTA and small businesses to share the costs of overseas marketing and promotional activities. SUSTA has two major assistance programs: Global Events and 50% CostShare.  SUSTA activities consist of trade shows, trade missions and promotions in many foreign markets.

Export Opportunities through Fresh From Florida

Fresh From Florida participates in several trade shows each year that provide an opportunity for Florida companies to showcase fresh produce, value-added, seafood and horticulture products to potential buyers.

Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE): January yearly; Fort Lauderdale. TPIE, hosted by the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA), is a horticulture trade event showcasing the latest trends in foliage, floral and tropicals.

Seafood Expo North America: March yearly; Boston. Seafood Expo North America (formerly the International Boston Seafood Show) is North America’s largest seafood trade exposition. The exposition features over 1,000 exhibiting companies from more than 40 countries.

CPMA Convention and Trade Show: April yearly; location varies. CPMA’s annual convention and trade show hosts 3,500 representatives from across the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain.

IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show: October yearly; location varies. With more than 20,000 people participating, the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show (formerly PMA Fresh Summit) can help you anticipate change, identify emerging trends, and profit from new opportunities.

America’s Food and Beverage Show: September yearly; Miami. America’s Food and Beverage is the largest show in the Western Hemisphere for the food and beverage industry.
